When not studying, there is an array of activities available through the school both cultural and adventure oriented. Activities include culturally relevant movies or documentaries, lectures given by herbal specialists, Mayan story tellers, or ex guerillas and group lessons such as salsa dancing or traditional cooking.  We also take hikes to indigenous villages, walks to local markets, and chocolate production facilities. We also visit many area ONGs (Organización No Gubernamental) and meet with local community organizations.  For students interested in experiencing adventure and nature tours, Casa Sosa School organizes trips to hot saunas, baths, springs and hikes to volcanoes, all of which are conveniently located within a short bus ride from Xela.
